Zechariah Meunier's environmental passion earned him a $5,000 Udall Scholarship. Awarded by the Arizona-based Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation, the scholarships are awarded to students committed to careers related to the environment, Native American health care or tribal policy.

Not Just Fiddlin' Around: Martha McDonnell Helping Launch World Premiere Musical in ChicagoTitle
Lawrence University senior Martha McDonnell has been selected as a member of the pit orchestra for the world premiere run of Sting's new musical "The Last Ship," which opens June 10 in Chicago.
The production is loosely based on the 16-time Grammy Award winner's ship-building hometown of Wallsend, England. Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, "The Last Ship" is scheduled for a 38-show run in Chicago before heading to Broadway's Neil Simon Theatre in late September.

Area Students Appear in Lawrence University Production of "Street Scene" Opera
The following students appeared in Lawrence University's recent (March 6-8) production of Kurt Weill's opera "Street Scene," a day-long snapshot of life in a "mean" quarter of New York City. Premiering in 1947, the opera follows the Maurrant family -- Anna, unhappily married to the brutish stagehand Frank, and their two children, Rose and Willie -- and their neighbors through an exceptionally hot 24-hour period in the summer of 1929.
