Lawrence's Presto Music Tour With a Mission goes to Houston
Twenty-eight students from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin, spent their spring break on an excursion to Houston that ties in with the school's vision of music with a mission. The students performed, taught in elementary schools and collaborated on music with students in an after-school program that focuses on electronic music. Each spring, Lawrence musicians - students and faculty - go into a chosen metro market for a mix of musical performances and community outreach, an immersion aimed at establishing relationships and community well-being as much as sharing talents and expanding the conservatory's musical footprint.
