Lawrence University's Travis Dillon '21, a mathematics major who has done significant research both on and off campus, has been named a 2020 Goldwater Scholar.

Willa Dworschack '20 is the recipient of a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, providing full funding for up to three years of research at any institution of her choice.

Lawrence University student Allan Garcia '23 of Chicago has been selected to receive a CIC/UPS Scholarship provided by the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) and its national partner, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) in Washington, D.C.

Cathleen Greene of Milwaukee, a freshman at Lawrence University, has won a $1,000 SAGE Scholars scholarship in a nationwide essay contest. She was one of 100 recipients.

Lawrence University student Nero Dejno '21 has been awarded a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship for the fall semester and will be studying abroad in Madagascar.

Willa Dworschack, a Lawrence University physics major from Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, has been named a Goldwater Scholar. The honor went to 496 sophomores or juniors across the country who are studying in areas of math or science.

Lawrence University junior Elizabeth Bridgwater has been named an Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholar. A chemistry and environmental studies major from Fort Collins, Colo., Bridgwater was one of 150 undergraduates nationally selected for the scholarship. Named in honor of long-time former U.S. Senator Ernest "Fritz" Hollings, who was well known for supporting ocean policy and conservation, the scholarship includes a two-year academic scholarship and a summer internship opportunity.

Milou (Emmylou) de Meij, a Lawrence University senior from Bozeman, Montana, received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program Award, the 58th time a Lawrence student has been so honored over the past four decades. She will now spend a year in Latvia teaching English and studying music of the region.

Augusta Finzel, a 2018 Lawrence University graduate, has been awarded a 10-month Fulbright Fellowship to Greenland where she'll serve as an English language teaching assistant and a "cultural ambassador."

Nalee Douangvilay, a 2018 Lawrence University graduate, has been awarded a Fulbright Teaching Fellowship that will send her to South Korea as an English language teaching assistant.

Launched in 2006 by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the CLS program is designed to expand the number of Americans studying and mastering foreign languages that are critical to national security and economic prosperity.

Lawrence junior Ruby Dickson has been awarded a $2,700 Fulbright-Hays Scholarship through the U.S. Department of Education for the 2015 Associated Colleges in China (ACC) Intensive Language Program.

Piano performance major Casey Kadlubowski will perform a public recital July 8 at the winner of the 2014 Menominee Area Arts Council (MAAC) John B. Henes Scholarship Award. The award includes a $1,000 scholarship.

Zechariah Meunier's environmental passion earned him a $5,000 Udall Scholarship. Awarded by the Arizona-based Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation, the scholarships are awarded to students committed to careers related to the environment, Native American health care or tribal policy.

Helen Titchener has been named a Fulbright Scholar for 2014-15 and will spend 10 months in Berlin, Germany as a teaching assistant.
